The Qatar Olympic Committee announced that the Qatar Football Association will organize the competitions of the 11th edition of the Arab Cup Championship during the period from 1 to 18 December 2025 with the participation of 16 teams.
Last May, FIFA granted the State of Qatar the right to host the next three editions of the Arab Cup, in the years 2025, 2029 and 2033, at its 74th meeting in the Thai capital, Bangkok, with the system of participation in the tournament being through sending invitations to 16 Arab teams. The tournament will also not be included in the international calendar.
The Qatar Olympic Committee stated that the tournament will be held on the World Cup stadiums, where matches of many international, global and continental championships were held, including the matches of the first edition of the Arab Football Cup, then the 2022 World Cup, and not ending with the matches of the Confederations Cup for “Intercontinental” clubs.
The Qatar Olympic Committee said in a statement published on its official website: “The Qatar Football Association will host the Arab Cup football competitions during the period from December 1 to 18 at the 2022 World Cup stadiums.”
In late 2021, Qatar hosted the Arab Cup for National Teams in its first edition, which was held in cooperation between the Arab Football Association and its international counterpart (FIFA), with the participation of 16 teams in the finals.
The Algerian team was then crowned champion of that edition, which revived the tournament with a new system, after defeating its Tunisian counterpart (2-0) in the final match that took place at Al-Bayt Stadium, one of the stadiums that was preparing to host the Qatar 2022 World Cup at the time. .
The qualifying system, how to qualify for the final stage of the tournament, and the participating teams will be determined during the coming period.
