Officials at Notre Dame de Sion College School in Alexandria revealed new details about the death of student Renad Adel, who was studying in the sixth grade of primary school.

Nassim George, general coordinator of church schools in Alexandria, confirmed that Renad’s death was not the result of bullying due to non-payment of fees, noting that the student and her sister had paid school fees in November 2024.

George explained that Renad was not subjected to bullying, pointing out that investigations indicate that she lost her balance while opening the window of the house, which led to her fall.

He added that the student was popular among her colleagues, which denies the truth of the rumors about her being bullied.

For her part, Maha Abdel Aziz, a member of the school’s Board of Trustees and the guardian of a fellow student who passed away in the same class, confirmed that what was reported about Renad being bullied due to non-payment of fees is not true, explaining that a delegation from the school offered condolences to the girl’s family at the mosque, where they were received with open arms. .

She pointed out that Renad’s mother, for her part, denied the story of her daughter’s suicide, stressing that the incident was the result of losing balance from the window of the house on the eighth floor.

A source in the investigation authorities confirmed that investigations are still ongoing, and no evidence has been found indicating that the girl committed suicide or was subjected to bullying.

Relatives and family of the child, Renad Adel, a sixth-grade primary school student, carried her body to its final resting place in the family cemetery, yesterday afternoon, Monday, after performing the funeral prayer at the Al-Sahaba Mosque in the Janaklis area, east of Alexandria.

The administration and teachers of the College of Notre Dame de Sion mourned the student Renad, who passed away yesterday, praying to God to cover her with His vast mercy, and to inspire her family and loved ones with patience and solace.

In a statement, the school administration expressed its strong dissatisfaction with the circulation of inaccurate information about the causes of the student’s death, calling on everyone to investigate accuracy and ensure the accuracy of the information before publishing it.

The College of Notre Dame de Sion added that this inaccurate information has a negative psychological impact on the family of the deceased student and her colleagues, and we ask that everyone’s feelings be respected in this painful circumstance – according to the statement.

A state of sadness prevailed among the colleagues and teachers of the deceased student, as the family of the Girl Guides of Notre Dame de Sion described her death as a great loss, during an obituary that stated: “With great sadness and sorrow, and in recognition of God’s will and destiny, we received news of the death of the late Zahra Renad Adel, God Almighty willing.”

The Raml Police Department was the first to receive a report from the Rescue Police Department, stating that a girl had fallen from the eighth floor of the property that she lived in the Janaklis area. The department’s officers moved and the body was transported to the morgue.

The Public Prosecution in Alexandria announced that the body would be buried today, after the forensic examination was completed, and the detectives were requested to investigate the incident and ask her family to find out the cause of death.

While her family said in statements during the funeral that their daughter, Renad, lost her balance and fell from the window, which led to her death, they denied any rumors on social media pages about her being subjected to bullying.
