Extra News channel published on its official Facebook page the names of the new ministers in the government who are scheduled to take the constitutional oath before President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, shortly.

The new ministerial formation included a group of new ministers, most notably Ambassador Badr Abdel Aati, who assumed the portfolio of Foreign Affairs and Immigration after the announcement of their inclusion, succeeding Ambassador Sameh Shoukry, who assumed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2014, becoming the first minister of both ministries together.

Ambassador Badr Abdel-Ati was born in Assiut Governorate in Upper Egypt. He excelled in his various educational stages and joined the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University, graduating in 1987. He also obtained his Master’s degree in 1999 and his PhD in 2003.

Abdel-Ati submitted his papers to join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988. Due to his efforts and excellence, Abdel-Ati left many fingerprints in all the capitals in which he served, including Tokyo, Washington, New York, Tel Aviv, Berlin, and Brussels, in addition to the various departments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including European Affairs.

Abdel-Ati was also responsible for the African and Congressional Affairs portfolio between 2003 and 2007, and served as Director of Palestinian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 2007 and 2008, in addition to serving as the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Diplomacy Department at the Ministry between 2013 and 2015.

From 2015 to 2019, he served as Egypt’s ambassador to Germany. He also served as Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs, and then as Egypt’s Permanent Representative to NATO. Abdel-Ati has experience in many files, including Palestine, African affairs, the Middle East, and the European Union.

During his tenure as the official spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he played a prominent role in communicating with the media and clarifying Egypt’s position on international and regional issues. He also worked to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and the countries in which he served as ambassador, which contributed to enhancing economic and cultural cooperation between Egypt and those countries.

He also participated in organizing many diplomatic events and official visits, which contributed to improving Egypt’s image on the international scene. He also enjoys a good reputation in diplomatic circles and has extensive experience in the field of international relations, which made him one of the prominent figures in Egyptian diplomacy.

Due to his many efforts, Germany awarded him the Order of Merit in 2020 in an honoring ceremony. The award was given due to the boom witnessed in Egyptian-German relations during his tenure, so Badr Abdel Aati continued his career full of achievements as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration.
