President Sisi holds bilateral meetings with European leaders regarding developing relations

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi receives, at the Federal Palace, the President of the European Union Commission, the Prime Minister of Belgium, the current President of the European Union, and the heads of state and government of Cyprus, Italy, Greece, and Austria.

The advisor, Dr., said: Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, said that Cairo is hosting today, Sunday, March 17, 2024, an Egyptian-European summit, which will witness the elevation of relations between Egypt and the European Union to the level of a “strategic and comprehensive partnership,” with the aim of achieving a qualitative leap in cooperation and coordination between the two sides, in order to achieve common interests.

The President is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with Egypt’s European leaders, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations. A summit meeting will also be held to discuss developing relations between Egypt and the European Union and its member states in various fields, most notably political relations, combating terrorism, and economic cooperation. And files on energy, industry, technology, education and immigration.

The summit will also discuss the regional situation, especially the war in the Gaza Strip, and how to restore security and stability in the region, and avoid the repercussions of the current tensions on international peace.
