The first football team of Al-Ahly Club is preparing for its counterpart, Esperance of Tunisia, tomorrow, in the first leg of the 2023-2024 African Champions League final.
Al-Ahly will host the Tunisian team Esperance tomorrow, at ten o’clock in the evening, Cairo time, at “Hammadi Al-Aqrabi” Stadium in Tunisia, in the first leg of the African Champions League final.

This is the third confrontation between the two teams, as they previously faced each other in the final of the tournament in two editions, in 2012 and 2018.
Al-Ahly achieved victory in the CAF Champions League final in 2012, after defeating Esperance with a score of three goals to two on aggregate in the two matches, while Esperance won the title in the 2018 edition, after winning with a score of four goals to three on aggregate in the two matches.
In general, Al-Ahly faced Tunisian clubs on 5 occasions, was able to win the title on three occasions, and was defeated on two occasions.
Al-Ahly’s results against Tunisian clubs in the CAF Champions League final were as follows:
The first confrontation between Al-Ahly and Tunisian clubs in the CAF Champions League final was in the 2005 tournament final, when it faced the Etoile du Sahel team in the final, and the match ended with a score of three gratis goals for Al-Ahly club on aggregate of the two matches.
The second confrontation between the Red Giants and the Tunisian clubs in the Champions League final was the 2006 final, which brought together the Red Giants and Tunisian Sfaxien, and ended in favor of the Red Giants, with a score of two goals to one on the aggregate of the two matches.
Al-Ahly suffered its first defeat from Tunisian clubs, in the final of the African Champions League, in the 2007 edition of the tournament, when it was defeated by Etoile du Sahel with a score of three goals to one, in the aggregate of the two matches.
