The Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia announced that tomorrow, Friday, is the beginning of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, on which the dates of Hajj and Eid al-Adha depend, and that the stop on Mount Arafat will be Saturday, June 15.

Thus, the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, which coincides with Sunday, June 16, is the first day Eid al-Adha.

Muslim countries and communities in various parts of the world usually follow Saudi Arabia in its vision of the crescent of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, as it is the country of Hajj rituals, and accordingly determine the date of stopping at Arafat, the greatest ritual of Hajj.

To date, more than one million and 200 thousand pilgrims have arrived in the Kingdom from various countries of the world to perform Hajj rituals, according to Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah.

It is noteworthy that more than 1.8 million pilgrims from more than 150 countries performed Hajj in 2023, which witnessed a complete return of pilgrims since the emergence of the Corona pandemic in late 2019.

During the year 2022, the number of pilgrims reached 899,353, while the 2021 season was limited to the participation of only 60,000 from within the Kingdom, and the year 2020 witnessed only about 10,000 from within Saudi Arabia, compared to about 2.5 million in 2019 from all over the world.
