Texas football receiver Xavier Worthy reached a historic achievement at the NFL combine on Saturday, officially setting the record for fastest 40-yard dash in combine history with a run of 4.21 seconds.
It was his second run of the day after he ran a similarly blistering 4.25-second run in his first run of the day. Worthy’s 40 time from his second run broke the 2017 mark set by former Washington receiver John Ross, who ran the event in 4.22 seconds. For years, that mark was the one to beat — until the Longhorns receiver broke it.
