Syrian artist Bassem Yakhour sets the conditions for his return to Syria…and reveals his opinion on the performance of the new authority. Al-Marsad newspaper

Al-Marsad newspaper: The Syrian artist Bassem Yakhour, known for his support for the defunct Syrian regime, revealed his position on returning to his country, explaining that the condition he set for return is “not appropriate at the present time.”

During his appearance on “Podcast with Nayla,” Yakhour expressed his fears of negative reactions, saying: “I am not immune from any negative reaction without understanding.”

He added: “In Syria today, a month after the change of government and the assumption of new authority, there are still many things that have not changed in essence.”

Yakhour pointed out the continuation of some negative practices, describing some of them as “individual cases,” but they reflect negative or brutal abuse that occurs daily.

He concluded his speech by criticizing what he described as the “bidding” that dominates the scene: “The greatest affliction is that everyone positions himself as judge and executioner.”
