Journalist Tamer Amin commented on Zamalek’s loss, 1-2, to the Moroccan team, Nahdet Berkane, in the first leg of the African Confederation Cup final.
During his program “Akher Al-Nahar” broadcast on “An-Nahar” satellite channel this Monday evening, Amin expressed his dissatisfaction with Zamalek’s performance in the first half, describing it as “disastrous and full of individual and collective mistakes,” pointing to the poor performance of the defense line and their committing a fatal penalty kick, in addition to Poor psychological and moral preparation by the technical staff.
He added, “The first half, especially the first half hour of the half, warned that we were headed towards disaster, whether in the penalty kick or in the second ball with a header among Zamalek’s defenders. They were below par in the first half. The technical staff was not at the level, especially in psychological and moral preparation.”
Despite the poor performance in the first half, Amin praised the awakening of the Zamalek players in the second half, explaining: “The players were coming down, unfocused and nervous, as evidenced by the series of mistakes that led to this result. I think that the Zamalek players were the ones who realized the danger and said that the dream is not lost.” Nouri and Shana will be useful and we will return with two or four zero losses, so everyone stays with himself.”
The presenter of “Akher Al-Nahar” stated that Zamalek realized the seriousness of the situation and the team tried to compensate for the result, and indeed, they succeeded in scoring a goal from Saif Al-Jaziri’s header, giving them hope of returning in the return match.
Amin stressed the need to forget this loss and focus on the return match, calling on Zamalek players to fight with everything they have to achieve victory and qualify for the final match.
