The Saudi defender is currently experiencing a period of instability, as the public is attacking him due to his declining level and his direct or indirect cause of the national team’s farewell to the Arabian Gulf Cup Kuwait 2024 “Gulf 26” in the semi-finals, then Al Hilal’s exit from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup in the quarter-finals. The final was defeated by Al-Ittihad in a penalty shootout after normal time and extra time ended in a tie (2-2).
The renewal file for the Blue Castle comes in the midst of all this, raising divisions among the public between supporters of its survival and opponents, but as for the club’s management, the negotiation process to extend the contract is ongoing.
According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Al-Hilal management entered into negotiations with Al-Bulaihi for a renewal, offering him a one-year contract, but the player wants to sign for two years.
The newspaper indicated that the 35-year-old is highly appreciated by the club’s management, for the role he plays with the team, stressing that there is a convergence of views between the two parties regarding the renewal, as both are working hard to reach a formula of an agreement that satisfies everyone, since the differences over the terms are not fundamental.
It is noteworthy that Al-Bulaihi has been playing for Al-Hilal since 2017, when he joined them from Al-Fateh. He participated with them during those years in 236 matches, scoring 22 goals, in addition to assisting two others, winning many championships, led by the AFC Champions League twice, and the 2022 Club World Cup silver.
