Dr. Amina Fathi, Director of the Alexandria Zoo, said that the zoo received about 45,000 visitors during the first two days of Eid al-Fitr, as about 11,000 visitors visited the park during the first day, and 34,000 visitors on the second day of the Eid.

Amina Fathi confirmed, in statements to the Middle East News Agency, Thursday evening, that the demand for the park this year is unprecedented and has witnessed a significant increase over last year. Due to the stability of the weather condition, she praised the support of the central administration of zoos.

She confirmed that the park succeeded in providing the alpaca, an animal of the camel family, which had not been in the park before. There is also a new reptile animal, which is the iguana, and among the animals are the sparrowhawk and the capuchin monkey, and new births such as the bighorn sheep, the Abyssinian monkey, and the eagle monkey, which contributes to Increasing demand for the park, especially by children and girls.

It is noteworthy that the Alexandria Zoo opens its doors to the public from nine in the morning until five in the evening, and is considered the second largest zoo in Egypt, after the Giza Zoo, and includes “animals, mammals, reptiles, and birds” and inside it is a high tower from which all its corners can be viewed.
