As the end of May approaches, many in Egypt are awaiting the date of disbursement of salaries for this month, as the Ministry of Finance announced the date of disbursement of salaries for the month of May 2024, in conjunction with the announcement of a new increase in salaries.
Salary disbursement date is May 2024
According to the Ministry of Finance’s announcement, the disbursement of salaries for the month of May 2024 will begin on Thursday, May 23, 2024, and the arrears will be disbursed during the days “8 – 9 – 12” of the month of May.

Details of the salary increase for May 2024
Salary increases vary according to job grades, according to ministry data:
- staff in Class Sixth, their salary will reach about 6,000 pounds.
- Employees in the fifth level will receive a salary of approximately 6,500 pounds.
- Employees in the fourth level will receive a salary of approximately 7,000 pounds.
- Employees in the third level will receive a salary of approximately 7,500 pounds.
- Second-level employees will receive a salary of approximately 8,000 pounds.
- Employees in the first class or its equivalent will receive a salary of approximately 8,200 pounds.
- Employees at the rank of general manager or equivalent will receive a salary of approximately 9,200 pounds.
- High-level employees or its equivalent will receive a salary of approximately 10,200 pounds.
- Employees in the excellent job category or its equivalent will receive a salary of approximately 12,200 pounds.
This increase in salaries reflects the great efforts made by workers in various sectors, and enhances the purchasing power of citizens in light of the current economic challenges.
