The Minister of Sports congratulates Zamalek Club and its fans on winning the African Confederation – State Information Service

Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, witnessed from Cairo International Stadium the return match of the African Confederation Cup final, which witnessed the victory of Zamalek Club over its Moroccan counterpart, Nahdet Berkane, in the Confederation Championship Cup.

After the end of the match, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi was keen to congratulate the Zamalek Club Board of Directors, headed by Captain Hussein Labib, and the players, after Zamalek won on aggregate in the two matches.

The Minister of Youth and Sports expressed his appreciation for the performance and achievement achieved by the team, praising the fighting spirit that appeared in the players’ performance, stressing that this crowning of the title reflects the excellence and distinguished level demonstrated by the players, and strengthens its position as one of the most prominent sports clubs on the African continent.

The Minister of Youth and Sports also affirmed his wishes for Al-Ahly Club to win the African Champions League title during the return match against the Tunisian team Esperance at Cairo International Stadium also next Saturday, to complete the happiness of the Egyptian football fans and for the African Super Championship to be between the two poles of Egyptian football, in addition to the motivation it represents for the team. Al-Masry during its next matches in the World Cup qualifiers scheduled for next June.

Zamalek Club won the title, after the return match ended with Zamalek defeating 1-0, while the return match ended with a score of 2-1 in favor of Nahdet Berkane, making the overall score 3-2 for Zamalek Club according to the African Confederation (CAF) rule, with the goal being counted as two goals away from home.
