Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports, crowned Al-Hilal team with the 2023-2024 Saudi Roshan League title, on Friday evening, May 24, 2024, at the Kingdom Arena, in the presence of Yasser Al-Meshal, President of the Saudi Football Federation, and Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Afaleq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Professional League, and Omar Mugharbel, CEO of the Saudi Professional League.
Before the start of the ceremony for crowning Al Hilal with the League Cup, a representative from Guinness awarded the World Encyclopedia certificate to Al Hilal Club, for the highest number of consecutive victories in football, the record recorded by Al Hilal team with 34 consecutive victories in various tournaments.
The ceremony was characterized by a wonderful festive atmosphere, with a large crowd attending at the Kingdom Arena, which has a capacity of about 26,000 spectators. This is the first coronation for Al Hilal in its new stadium, which opened late last January.
The Al Hilal team has 93 points with 30 wins and 3 draws in the league, after its victory yesterday, Thursday, over its guest Al-Taei 3-1 in Riyadh. Al-Hilal was not crowned after the Al-Taei match, unlike the usual league champions (they were crowned in the first match at Al-Batal Stadium after clinching the title), because they played the match at Al-Shabab Club Stadium, due to incomplete maintenance work on their stadium, “Kingdom Arena”. The team will play its next match in the final 34th round against its host Al-Wahda next Monday.
