Bali, May 20 (BNA): The delegation of the Parliamentary Division affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continued support for international efforts to preserve the environment, and the adoption of legislative and legal initiatives related to reducing pollution, protecting fresh water, and providing it to all, as it is one of the basic components of life, during its participation in the work of the parliamentary meeting. On the occasion of the Tenth World Water Forum, held on the island of Bali in the friendly Republic of Indonesia.
The Parliamentary Division delegation, which was headed by Mr. Muhammad Ali Hassan Ali, Chairman of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee in the Shura Council, and whose membership included Representative Badr Saleh Al-Tamimi, Vice Chairman of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee in the House of Representatives and deputy head of the delegation, and Representative Dr. Ali Majid Al-Nuaimi, member of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, noted that The legislative authority is the first to adopt treaties and agreements related to ensuring environmental protection and combating water pollution. Therefore, it adopts a number of preventive legal protocols that various sectors, especially industrial ones, adhere to to ensure that water is not polluted, in addition to paying attention to protecting the environment and providing sanitation services. As one of the components of comprehensive and sustainable infrastructure in the Kingdom.
The delegation participated in the first session of the meeting, which was held under the title (Access to water, sanitation, and sanitation is the winning deal for achieving sustainable development), which discussed ways to provide pure and safe water sources for drinking, agricultural and industrial use, and develop sewage systems that work efficiently to prevent water pollution and protect… Environment, especially in developing countries.
The delegation also participated in the second session of the meeting, which was held under the title (Innovative Practices for Comprehensive and Fair Access to Water), which discussed innovative practices for using modern technology such as water desalination systems, utilizing gray and rainwater, improvements in water resource management and encouraging smart and economic water agricultural practices. And dispense with old practices that cause significant water waste.
The Parliamentary Meeting represents a collaborative effort between the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the World Water Council and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, in which parliaments from around the world participate to promote knowledge exchange, share practices and experiences, communicate and build partnerships to promote collective action on water-related challenges.
