MK Yaron Levy (Yesh Atid) on the recruitment of ultra-Orthodox: “There is a national need here, the ultra-Orthodox parties need to change the phase” • On the words of MK Ariel Kellner (Likud) that MK Lapid is a ‘wretched man’, he replied: “I don’t think it’s an appropriate discourse these days”
MK Yaron Levy (Yesh Atid) spoke with Gadi Ness on 104.5fm about the conscription law.
At the beginning of the conversation, he was asked about the words of MK Ariel Kellner (Likud), who said that MK Lapid is a ‘wretched man’. Levy replied: “I don’t think this is an appropriate conversation these days.”
On the ultra-Orthodox recruitment law he said: “There is a national need here, the ultra-Orthodox parties need to change the phase.”
Later in the conversation, I was asked about the claim made earlier by Settlement Minister Orit Strock that “the percentage of reservists among those who graduated from the regular army, the figure of the Ministry of Defense is seven percent, Levy replied: “Enough with the numbers – we are in a time of war.”
He also claimed: “The conscription law is not just numbers – it’s a value.”
