The result of the match between Zamalek and Al-Masry…the White Knight wins

Zamalek Club achieved a valuable victory over Al-Masry Club of Port Said, in a match within the African Confederation Cup Championship.

Zamalek defeated Al-Masry (1-0) to break the lead partnership, and was alone in the fourth group standings, with 7 points, while the Port Said team’s balance was frozen at 4 points, falling to third place.

Ahmed Zizo scored Zamalek’s winning goal against Al-Masry, in the 63rd minute of the match, seizing victory for the White Knight.

Ahmed Magdy’s temporary mission was completed successfully, after he was able to achieve victory in his match against Al-Masry after the departure of Jose Gomez, and before handing over the mission to the Swiss Christian Gross.

Match events

Zamalek started very strongly, and was able to threaten Al-Masry’s goal in more than one attempt, through a shot fired by Abdullah Al-Saeed, which was blocked by Al-Masry’s defender with a ransom.

Once again, Nabil Imad Donga shot from outside the penalty area, but Mahmoud Gad blocked it and sent it away to a corner kick, as Zamalek imposed its control over the course of the first 10 minutes of the confrontation.

Algerian Mustafa Ghorbal issued the first yellow card in the match, to Mohamed Makhlouf, the Al-Masry player, in the 12th minute, after he intervened from behind on Ahmed Zizo.

Baher Al-Mohammadi suffered an injury after a joint game with Saif Al-Jaziri, as the latter pushed the Egyptian player towards the advertising board, injuring his hand, and Mustafa Ghorbal intervened by showing a new yellow card, this time in the face of the Tunisian striker.

The 19th minute witnessed Zamalek’s most dangerous attack, after Zizou’s shot hit the Al-Masry defender and changed its direction, but Mahmoud Gad was able to stop it at first, before Al-Jaziri followed up and shot a ball that hit the post, and then the Al-Masry defender moved it away from his team’s areas.

Nabil Imad Donga received the third warning in the match in the 34th minute, after a tackle from behind on Amr Saadawi, near the corner flag.

Mustafa Shalabi fell in the 37th minute after a ball shared by Karim Al Iraqi, amid calls for a penalty kick, but Mustafa Ghorbal was close to the game and continued playing.

The second half quickly began with a dangerous intervention by Mahmoud Hamada on Ahmed Fattouh, and the Algerian referee showed the fourth yellow card in the face of the Egyptian player.

Ali Maher made the first changes to the Al-Masry team’s formation, with Samir Fekry leaving and Abdel Rahim Daghmoum entering in the 61st minute of the match.

Ahmed Sayed Zizou was able to score Zamalek’s first goal in the 63rd minute, after a wonderful sentence started by Saif Al-Jaziri and then passed it with the heel to Konrad Michalak, who sent it to Zizou, and in turn, he dribbled past the Al-Masry defender before shooting the ball to the left of Mahmoud Gad. Following the goal, Ahmed Magdy made two changes to Zamalek’s lineup, with Mohamed Shehata and Hossam Ashraf replacing Konrad Michalak and Seif El-Din El-Jaziri.

Mustafa Ghorbal expelled one of Ali Maher’s assistants in the 85th minute, after strongly objecting to one of the plays in which the referee awarded a free kick in favor of Zamalek.
