Saturday was an anomaly in the career of Tiger Woods.
Round 3 saw Woods shoot the worst 18 hole of his career at any major, let alone at Augusta, with the legend bogeying four of his final five holes to finish at 10-over 82 and 11-over through three rounds of the tournament.
Woods, who made his 24th consecutive Masters cut at 1-over through Friday, said after his second round he was still within striking distance. While Sunday will undoubtedly lead to a recalibration of his expectations, he’ll try to finish strong Sunday and avoid withdrawing like he was forced to in 2023.

He may not get the green jacket, but Woods remains among the most compelling golfers in the tournament. He’ll carry his customary gravitas into Sunday, regardless of whether he’s playing for a win or not.

What did Tiger Woods shoot today?
Woods finished the day shooting a 5 over 77, putting him at 16 over for the tournament. His fourth and final round was doomed largely by a triple bogey on No. 5, a hole in which he took three tee shots.
Woods had a birdie, two bogeys and a triple-bogey Sunday. He finished with a par on the remaining 13 holes.
Barring a late collapse from any of his competitors, Woods will finish in last among the 60 players who made the cut Friday for the final two rounds of the Masters.

Woods will tee off at 9:35 a.m. at Augusta National Golf Club Sunday, partnered with Neal Shipley, the final amateur left in the field.

Tiger Woods wins at Masters
Five of Woods’ 15 major championship wins have come at the Masters, his most successful of golf’s four major events. His first win at Augusta came in 1997, followed by three victories in five years in 2001, 2002 and 2005. His most recent victory came in 2019.
Woods’ five victories are the second-most ever of any golfer at Augusta, trailing only Nicklaus’ six.

Woods has played in the Masters 25 times prior to 2024, beginning in 1995. It only took him two years to win the event, where in 1997 he became both the youngest winner of the Masters (at 21 years old) and the first non-white champion. He won four of nine Masters Tournaments from 1997 through 2005.
Woods’ most recent win again at Augusta National was in 2019, when he finished 13 under par to edge Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Xander Schauffele, all at 12 under. It was Woods’ first victory in a major championship since 2008 and, at 43 years old, he became the second-oldest Masters winner ever, behind only Nicklaus, who won the 1986 Masters at 46 years old.
