To train Turkish Fenerbahce… Portuguese Jose Mourinho arrives in Istanbul

Video clips showed today, Sunday, the arrival of the Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho To Sabiha International Airport in Istanbul to assume his duties as coach of Fenerbahce Club, competing in the Turkish Premier League, with a contract extending for two seasons, according to media reports.

Veteran Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho is likely to return to training next season, while Fenerbahce club, competing in the Turkish Premier League, is preparing to officially announce its contract with him.

Mourinho, 61, has not been linked to any team since Roma dismissed his services last January.

Talks between Fenerbahce and Mourinho

The Turkish club announced yesterday, Saturday, that it had begun talks with Mourinho. He published a video recording in which the very experienced coach addressed the team’s fans, saying: “See you tomorrow (in Istanbul)… Let’s start our journey together.”

Mourinho will lead the technical staff of Fenerbahce, succeeding Turkish coach Ismail Kartal, who was dismissed from his position last Friday after his team suffered one defeat in the league, but tied six times, which cost it the loss of the local title to Galatasaray, its neighbor in Istanbul, by three points.

Mourinho, who won titles with Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester United, will be asked to help Fenerbahce win the domestic league title for the first time since the 2013-2014 season.
