Mohamed Salah scored Liverpool’s victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, after coming back from a goal down to win 2-1, to lead the English Premier League before the anticipated confrontation between Manchester City and Arsenal later on Sunday.

With this victory, Liverpool’s tally rises to 67 points at the top, with a difference of 3 points in front of Arsenal, who is in second place, and 4 points in front of City, in third place.

Brighton player Danny Welbeck scored the first goal after 84 seconds of a counterattack, which he crowned with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area.

Liverpool returned to the match with Luis Diaz’s equalizer in the 27th minute, after Brighton’s Joel Veltman failed to clear a corner kick, and the Colombian winger succeeded in putting it into the net.

Liverpool’s tremendous pressure resulted in the winning goal, when Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah shot into the net during the 65th minute, taking advantage of Alexis McAllister’s pass.

Diaz thought he had scored the third goal 6 minutes after Salah’s goal, but the referee canceled the goal due to offside in a decision confirmed by the video assistant referee, and Salah almost scored from a counterattack in the 74th minute, but he shot at the goalkeeper.

In the 86th minute, substitute Adam Lallana, the Brighton player, fired a shot towards his former team’s goal, but it came wide, and the Brighton goalkeeper brilliantly blocked an attempt from Salah in the last minute of regular time.
