Who is the Dutch Arne Slot, Liverpool’s new coach?

Dutchman Arne Slot was born on September 17, 1978. He is 46 years old. He played in the Dutch League only and began his football career with the youth team in Bergentheim, Netherlands, as a midfielder. He suffered from many injuries, and played for FC Zwolle, NAC Breda, Sparta Rotterdam and B. EC Zwolle before retiring from playing in 2013.

In total, he played 462 matches and scored 100 goals, and his most notable achievement is winning the Dutch League “Second Division” title twice with FC Zwolle.

He began his coaching career as an assistant coach in 2014, then he coached the Cambior club in 2016, after which he took over the leadership of the Alkmaar club in 2018, then he coached the Dutch team Feyenoord since 2021, and led them to the first final in the club’s history of the European Conference League against Roma of Italy.

After retiring in 2013, Slott decided to join the Zwolle team’s coaching staff and stayed with them for only one year, before assuming the leadership of Cambuur for the same period as well.

Then he worked on the technical staff of Alkmaar in 2017, and helped the team occupy third and fourth places in the Dutch league table, before becoming technical director in 2019.

The most prominent stop was with the Feyenoord team, where he led the team to the European Conference League final during his first season, then won the Dutch League in 2022-2023, in addition to the Dutch Cup this season.
